The dates for
DOWNTEAM challenge 2009 is set to 6th to 9th August 2009. More info at

We will apply for the Nordic Acro Championships
2009. The Nordic meeting is in one week, and we believe we will get a
positive answer. We plan for 2009 to use winch-boat as well as
take-off from the mountain. It will be bigger, better and more than
2008. :)

All runs can now be viewed in the

allows us 1 hour video, so we had to split it into part1 and part2.

Radio Jämtland did interviews at DOWNTEAM challenge
2008.

-06.August-
Last competition day, and two more runs as well as
one run in Syncro Expression Session. The weather was superb in the
morning, and the rain kept it's distance until 16:00, well in time for
us to finish all the flying we wanted.
Pricegiving and the dinnerparty (from BROKEN) was in the barn at
SKYSPORT paragliding school.
First place Swedish pilot, and no.5 overall was Martin Kjellman. He
was very unlucky in the syncro contest, where he and his partner Filip
flew to close, and Martins glider actually ripped in two.
First place overall went to Kjartan Andvik, who flew extra ordinary
good. No mistakes in ANY run. Impressive.

Second competition day gave us strong winds in the morning and very
nice conditions in the evening.
We started up by letting 4 pilots fly speedriders from the takeoff and
fly down to the festival area. We had TV4 documenting it all, and
Radio Jämtland did several

with pilots and organization.
Out of the 4 pilots flying down, one landed on the raft, one on the
landing, one in the lake, and the last one landed in the forest just
below the takeoff.
Then we had the final runs for the "Parallel speedrider ground
handling race". The winner was Fredrik Lindholm, second Jan Tore
Solberg, and third Kjartan Andvik.
And 19:00 the first run of Open Swedish Championships started. The
pilots could choose 3 manoeuvres out of 5 pre-selected manoeuvres by
the judges.
Second run was an announced program where the pilots could choose
freely 3 manoeuvres from the whole list.

First competition day have been to windy. But we made a special comp
called "Parallell speedrider ground handling race". We also tried to
organize a training flight around 21:00, but the wind at take-off was
still to strong. One speedrider took off ;)
Tomorrow will be an early day. First briefing 8:30.

Warmup party tonight. Registration and beers at
Hotell Åre Torg at 20:00
sunday night. All pilots, voluntaers and hang-arounds are invited.

Todays training is cancelled due to rain and strong winds. Monday
looks better, tuesday and wednesday looks exellent.

The Festival area is ready, and the raft is floating just outside the
same area. There will be acro-shows, festival, music, tandem
paragliding and food. We welcome you all.

Time to pay the entry fee. We have T-shirts to print, lunsj-packs to
prepare, and transport tickets to buy. So pilots, please pay ASAP.
There will be an 20% increase of the entry fee for the pilots who do
not pay before friday (1. August). It's not payed before I see the
money ;)

the bacterias, leaving no bad smell during heavy work on the raft and
rescueboat.

Norwegian and Swedish pilots are offered an acro licens for free if
they enter the DOWNTEAM challenge2008. They must meet in Åre
26.th-27th July to perform a few manouvers and show that they are
capable of taking care of their own acro flying and that they fullfill
the requriments for the acro licens.
