It's not a totally new consept,
because it's what most acro pilots try to do in competitions before
landing on the raft, and parachutist have competed in this for years.
But it's the first time we organize this kind of competition in Sweden.
The concept is to touch the water and
make the longest line in the water using foot, hand or other parts of
your body before landing safe and dry on land. You are allowed to
leave the water and then touch it again. We will measure from the
first point you touch the water to where you leave the water the last
time. Landing in the water would normally give zero score, but we are
nice people, and will only cut 50% ;)
Best RUN out of two, or two best out
of three runs will give us the winner.
The competition will be open for all pilots
holding advance flying licens (IPPI-5). This might change to also
allow lower category pilots is we find it safe. We will in that case
test the pilot first with a spotlanding test.
Entry fee is only 150.-swedish kroner
to cover the transport to take-off.
Registration for this competition is
done at the competition arena the same day as the competition is held.
Pål is training for the longest swoop.
Here is Pål and Vera testing the
swooping course.
More training. Here using the
speedbar to control the dive towards the water.
